Outdoors For a Change is offering two ways to experience the desert of the Joshua Tree National Park: up close and personal; and up close and "comfortable"!
Trip 1: The up close and comfortable option. You’ll be 3 days day-hiking in the desert and will stay in a motel at night. The moderately easy hikes will let you explore the desert and, through some guided reflections, our interior lives as well. Cost: $200 (hotel and dinner expenses are extra)
Trip 2: The more adventurous option will include rock climbing, backpacking, and sleeping in the desert. Reflections on wilderness readings and a solo time in the desert will round out this 4 day-3-night trip. Cost: $400 (motel before and after are extra)
Either – or both! – promise a great opportunity to pull away from the routine of usual life and spend some time in an environment that, down through the ages, people of faith have found so enriching to their spiritual lives. It will also provide a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery and unique geology of Joshua Tree National Park.
